Jacob Kramer

Jacob – a senior Presidential and Wallis Annenberg Scholar – is double majoring in journalism and political science and has an intense passion for all things digital. He currently works for Yahoo Inc.! as a social media intern, where he develops and manages social media strategy and content creation for all of Yahoo’s social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube). He has a voracious appetite for tasty foods – shout out Howlin’ Rays in Chinatown, L.A. – and loves to share pictures of his dining experiences on his story.

Joy Ofodu

Major: Communication
Hometown: Bay Area, CA
Graduation Year: 2018
A Senior and Trustee Renaissance Scholar, Joy studies Communication with minors in Marketing and Spanish. She is also serving her third year as Communications Coordinator of the USC African American Cinema Society. She has interned for thredUP, Lucasfilm and Instagram, where she will be working full-time after graduation. As a professional photographer, Joy is nothing without her DSLR.

Roberto Gutierrez

Roberto is a senior Communication major interning with Univision, Allied Integrated Marketing and the USC Annenberg Admissions Office. He hopes to make the most out of his years at USC and plans on pursuing a career in digital storytelling. Roberto enjoys live music, exploring neighboring cities, and finding neat places to eat.

Shawn Hauffen

Shawn is a senior in Annenberg who hopes to pursue a profession in the sports or entertainment industry. During his time at USC, Shawn has interned with the Los Angeles Football Club, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, Merrill Lynch and been involved in the Annenberg Latino Student Association. Before coming to USC he gained internship experience at the Office of State Senator Hernandez and at the Los Angeles Superior Courts.

Claire Porter

Graduation Year: 2018
Claire is a senior studying Communication and Marketing, focusing her studies on media representation and social change. She currently interns for 20th Century Fox in their Publicity and Corporate Communications department, and has held multiple internships in public relations back home in the Bay Area. When she’s back on campus, Claire is an active member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, is the chapter leader for USC’s I AM THAT GIRL, a national organization working to shift and improve girl culture, and is the Speakers Director for USC OWN IT, an all-day female leadership summit. Drew Schwendiman

Drew Schwendiman is a Senior studying Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in Culture, Media and Entertainment. He’s a big talker and can rant about politics, pop culture, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer all day. Right now he’s a digital editor at Annenberg Media but has also served as a host, reporter, and producer for various platforms there. Ask him about the media center! Aaron Glazer

Major: Journalism
Hometown: Mequon, WI
Graduation Year: 2019
Aaron Glazer is a junior Broadcast and Digital Journalism major with a minor in Sports Media. Aaron is the Sports Director for KXSC Radio, where he serves as a play-by-play voice for all USC Football and Basketball games. He is also a sports anchor and analyst for Sports SCene in the USC Annenberg Media Center, as well as a director for ATVN. Aaron also holds two internships: one at “Undisputed with Skip and Shannon” for FOX Sports, and one in the Annenberg Admissions Office. Aaron has been on the New York City Maymester program, and is looking forward to starting a journey in sports media.

Briana Grubb

Graduation Year: 2019
Briana is a Jack Kent Cooke scholar studying Communication, with minors in Media, Economics, and Entrepreneurship and Technology Commercialization. Briana currently interns at JSA Strategies, a communications consulting agency for consumer tech and digital media companies. She is a member of Annenberg Women’s Leadership Society and was a research assistant for Dr. Stacy Smith’s Media, Diversity, and Social Change Initiative. She currently serves as VP New Member Education on USC’s Panhellenic Executive Board and is an active member of Pi Beta Phi. Briana is originally from San Diego, CA and is excited to be studying in Rome this spring through Annenberg International.

Celine Carrasco

Graduation Year: 2018
Celine is a senior in Annenberg with a passion for diversity and entertainment. She currently serves as the Social Media Manager for MixedSC and works as a research assistant at MDSC Initiative with Dr. Stacy Smith. She is also a member of Lambda Pi Eta and Gamma Phi Beta sorority. This past summer, she worked as a literacy intern and taught her own class of 5th and 6th graders to help improve their reading comprehension skills. Her past experience includes working for Bent Pixels in the audience development department where she managed YouTube channels for clients such as the House of Blues and Kevin Hart.

Erika Lee

Erika Lee is a senior with a passion for writing storytelling on all platforms. This semester, she’s the Wednesday Weather Anchor for Annenberg TV News, Blogs Editor of the Daily Trojan, and an Editorial Intern at Eater Los Angeles. In addition, she is the President and Co-Founder of the Asian American Journalists Association, founded due to her passion for advocating for diversity in newsrooms. She was previously a columnist, Lifestyle Editor, and Social Media Editor at the Daily Trojan and has interned at Circa and Los Angeles Magazine. On campus, she has been a multimedia journalist and JEDI producer for the media center.

Francisco Jauregui

Graduation Year: 2019
Francisco Jauregui is a Junior Gates Millennium Scholar double-majoring in English Literature and Communication with the hopes of working in the Education field. He has been a Programs Intern for non-profit CollegeSpring, a research assistant with Professor Goodman at the USC School of Social Work, and a member of Sigma Delta Alpha fraternity. While Francisco has his mind set on pursuing a career working in higher learning, he has a passion for cooking on the side. Gaining his talents from his father, Francisco would like to eventually open a restaurant in Los Angeles geared towards providing delicious, organic meals to low-income areas.

Joi Wade

Joi Wade is a sophomore studying journalism from the east coast. She is the current Vice President of USC’s NABJ Chapter and is also involved in Annenberg’s Women’s Leadership Society. Joi runs her own YouTube channel for over 50,000 subscribers. Her previous internship experience includes ELLE Magazine.

Leah Rubin

Graduation Year: 2018Leah is a Senior Communication major with an area of focus in culture which fuels her passion for community outreach, public education, and cultural studies. She is currently an Annenberg Admissions Intern. She has performed research for Dr. Stacy Smith’s Media, Diversity, & Social Change Initiative as well as tutored high school students for USC Upward bound and helped prepare them for college applications as they were first generation college applicants. Leah hopes to continue to learn about communicative processes that we engage in and find ways to make positive differences in Los Angeles’ multicultural community and it’s public education.

Mahima Dutt

Graduation Year: 2019
Mahima Dutt is a junior studying communication with an interest in social media and the digital landscape. You can find her working as a social distribution editor for Annenberg Media, managing social media accounts as the Director of Public Relations for USC Helenes or tutoring local elementary school kids at Adventures Ahead, an after school program aimed to improve literacy rates. This past summer, she participated in the USC Annenberg Bay Area Maymester program, where she gained once in a life time access and exposure to companies at the intersection of technology, entertainment. Mahima will also be studying abroad next semester in London is excited to analyze the differences in communication there. She hopes to pursue a career in marketing and communication in the social media/tech sphere.

Maia Chloe Lopes-Gilbert

Graduation Year: 2019
Maia is a junior Presidential and National Merit Scholar who loves everything media, communication, design, and entertainment related. She is a mentor for a local elementary school through the Women And Youth Supporting Each Other (WYSE) program, a freelance photographer and website designer, a Thematic Option Scholar, and a member of female-empowerment group I Am That Girl. This past summer, Maia studied abroad in Sao Paulo, Brazil furthering her dream to become fluent in Portuguese, her third language next to English and French. One day, she hopes to head her own non-profit for victims of bullying and to be an executive in the design or entertainment industries.

Nicholas Alfano

Graduation Year: 2019
Nick is a Junior Dean’s Scholar majoring in Broadcast and Digital Journalism with a minor in Business Finance. He has taken advantage of many broadcast opportunities at USC as he has hosted [email protected] on Trojan Vision, “The Buzz” in the Annenberg Media Center, and is now the Monday night Sports Anchor for Annenberg TV News. Outside of Annenberg, Nick is a member of the club baseball team, a member of the executive board for the Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity, and is the Director of Recruitment for the USC Interfraternity Council. This past summer Nick worked in the Public Relations department for the Brooklyn Nets basketball team and he is excited to work for NBC Sports in PyeongChang, South Korea during the 2018 Winter Olympics in February.

Ruby Yuan

Ruby is a second year journalism student from China. He has double minor is Mobile App Development and Digital Studies. He works in the Annenberg Media for ATVN section and manages Annenberg Media WeChat platform that specifically targets USC Chinese readership.

Sophie Flay

Hometown: Fairfield, CT
Graduation Year: 2018
Sophie is a senior studying broadcast and digital journalism. After a semester of abroad studying in London, she’s back in the media center experimenting with a brand new Instagram Stories show. In the past she’s interned for Warner Brothers creating digital content. She’s also interned for NBC working for the TODAY Show, the summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro and will join them again in PyeongChang for the 2018 Winter Olympics. She spends her free time eating her way around Los Angeles and making playlists for her radio show on KXSC.

Tiana Lyew

Graduation Year: 2020
Tiana is a Trustee Scholar who hopes to one day pursue a career in Political Communications. As a Floor Senator for Bohnett and Nemirovsky building government, Tiana enjoys getting involved in her community at USC. She also holds minors in both Computer Security and Music Industry. Outside of school, Tiana is currently interning with a local Music Industry lawyer in Beverly Hills. She is excited to further her involvement as an Ambassador of the Annenberg school.

Vanni Le

A third-year Public Relations undergraduate with a passion for entertainment and diversity and inclusion, Vanni is the President of USC’s QuestBridge chapter and involved with Annenberg as an senior admissions interviewer. This past summer, she interned at the Walt Disney Studios as the Integrated Planning and Franchise Management intern where she worked on branding and social media strategy for upcoming live-action titles and Disneynature. Vanni is graduating with her Bachelor’s this academic year and spending her fourth year at USC pursuing a progressive master’s degree in Communication Management.
